The Ann Hewan Foundation recently wrapped up its 2025 Annual Back 2 School event, a five day series of gatherings centered on education, health, and community connection.
Festivities began with a meet and greet designed to bring together younger students and alumni as they prepared for the upcoming school year. Held at the Goodwill Infant and Primary School, the event was filled with school spirit and Jamaican pride, encouraging younger generations to feel supported and inspired.
The main Back 2 School event followed, where backpacks, pencils, crayons, notebooks, and other supplies were handed out through the joint efforts of the GSAF and the Ann Hewan Foundation. The day featured speeches from respected alumni and community members who offered words of encouragement to students and families. A school reunion also took place, offering alumni a chance to reconnect and reflect on their time together.
The following day, a church ceremony brought together alumni and current students of the Goodwill Infant and Primary School to worship as one community. This spiritual gathering honored shared roots and looked forward to the year ahead with hope and gratitude.
The final two days included a Health Fair sponsored by Know Your Numbers, a mobile screening unit that provided wellness checks and promoted health awareness. The week concluded with a lively Sports Day, held at the school. Even though the field is still under development, it didn’t stop the games from going forward with full energy and enthusiasm.
The Ann Hewan Foundation remains committed to uplifting the community through charity.
Recently, the Goodwill Infant & Primary School celebrated their 2025 Field Day, showcasing the unwavering resilience that Jamaicans display each and every day. Despite the playing field not yet being ready for the event, the spirit of the day remained unshaken. Students athletes, families, and teachers came together, creatively using the areas surrounding the field, though not in perfect condition, to ensure the tradition lived on.
With incredible determination and heart, the young athletes participated in events like the 4 x 100 relay, baton races, and other spirited competitions, radiating joy and unity throughout the day.
Thanks to the continued efforts of those donating, the Ann Hewan Foundation in partnership with the Goodwill School Alumni Foundation, is ensuring progress is steadily being made to complete the new playing fields. Their shared vision is creating a future where student athletes can train, play, and thrive on a space they truly deserve.
A brighter, bolder future is on the horizon and we can’t wait to cheer on the next generation of champions on a field built just for them.
